Spring 2024 · Section 001 · CRN 25542

Have you been finding that the same people keep winning the games you play? It could be that there happen to be characteristics that make some people better at board games than others There can be social reasons, psychological reasons, even biomechanical reasons for this, so over the course, students will be able to play a wide variety of games from different categories (Settlers of Catan, One Night Werewolf, Codenames, etc.) and find some of these fundamentals in both board games and apply these to life scenarios such as the power dynamics in the economic world, social ladders, and so many more. The course will conclude with a presentation of the rules for a game that the students will have created, using the fundamentals learned throughout the course.
