This course explores Heavy Metal music as a misunderstood yet globally popular genre, offering a compelling subject to study how music reflects societal concerns. Students will develop research and writing skills through readings and discussions in Heavy Metal and Popular Music Studies, practicing writing about music’s relationship with culture and society.
