Summer 2025 · Section 701 · CRN 32095
This course is an introduction to sustainable development and sustainable design. Sustainable development is one of the most interesting and challenging issues facing the world today. Sustainability is about living within the limits of natural and human systems as well as working to ensure that future generations have the ability to meet their needs even as we ensure that current generations can meet theirs. Sustainability is about social issues as well as environmental and economic ones. Sustainability either is or will become an issue of primary concern to virtually every country, state, city, corporation and institution in the world over the next decade or two. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to enter into the dialogue about sustainable human systems.
