FWIS 103: WRITING ABOUT THE ARTS

This course will focus on historical art forms and their cultural context and aesthetic qualities. How does one put into words one’s ideas and feelings about something that is non-verbal? The course will cover a great range of art, including painting, photography, architecture, film, and even music.
