FWIS 175: WHAT IS A DISASTER?

What are ‘natural’ disasters? To approach this question, we examine the temporally, socially, and economically disparate layers of various disasters and consider the dynamic relationship between memory keeping and humanitarian aid. Our semester culminates in the production of a collaborative digital writing project that examines events in the Houston area.
