BIOE 252: BIOENGINEERING FUNDAMENTALS
Fall 2026 · Section 001 · CRN 10065
Introduction to material, energy, charge, and momentum balances in biological systems. Steady state and transient conservation equations for mass, energy, charge and momentum will be derived and applied using basic mathematical principles, physical laws, stoichiometry, and thermodynamic properties. Problem based learning groups will solve open-ended problems. Required for students intending to major in bioengineering. MATH 211 is a concurrent prerequisite and may be taken the same semester.
