Covers basic group theory (including subgroups and quotients, permutation and matrix groups, group actions) and basic ring theory (including ideals and quotients, polynomial rings, unique factorization). Recommended Prerequisite(s): MATH 354 or MATH 355 or MATH 221 Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for MATH 356 if student has credit for MATH 306.
