CMOR 524: ADV NUMERICAL ANALYSIS

Construction and analysis of numerical algorithms for root finding, interpolation and approximation of functions, quadrature, and the solution of differential equations; fundamentals of computer arithmetic; solution of linear systems, least squares problems, and eigenvalue problems via matrix factorizations; the singular value decomposition (SVD) and basic sensitivity analysis. Computer programming in MATLAB is required. This course covers fewer topics than CAAM 453 with greater theoretical depth. Instructor Permission Required.
