HIST 260: EARLY HISTORY OF SCIENCE

Spring 2027 · Section 002 · CRN 26317

We are living through a moment where how we know what we know, what counts as sufficient evidence, what we consider to be “truths” about the world, and how technology mediates the answers to these questions—is in flux. This course explores how the past can help us think through these questions in the present. Topics range from traditional subjects such as Aristotelian Science and Copernican Astronomy to Indigenous Epistemologies and the relationship between Science and Colonialism.
