Study of the fundamentals of compressible, one-dimensional gas flows with area change, normal shocks, friction, and heat addition. Includes oblique shocks, Prandtl-Meyer flows expansions, and numerical techniques. Cross-list: MECH 591. Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for MECH 491 if student has credit for MECH 591.
