SOCI 454: HEALTH EQUITY

This course helps students understand the meaning of health equity, and barriers to achieving it with particular focus on the United States. Course readings invoke essential concepts from medical sociology and public health with special emphasis on social determinants of health and upstream solutions to preventing health disparities. Cross-list: SOCI 554. Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for SOCI 454 if student has credit for SOCI 544/SOCI 554.
