Survey of the history of Europe from the end of World War II to 1989. The course focuses on the impact of the war on European societies as well as on decolonization, European unification, economic reconstruction, immigration, and the rise and fall of communism in Eastern Europe.

World War Two was not just a military conflict, but also a violent political and social struggle. Seminar explores the main ideologies and political blueprints devised during the war in the United States, Western and Eastern Europe. Open to juniors and seniors.
