Dr. Lee’s group focuses on exploring optoelectronic and photonic properties of low-dimensional quantum materials at nanoscale to develop devices for next generation electronic and information technology. To achieve this, her group specializes in scanning microscopy (utilizing electrons, photons, and metallic tip as as probes) that enable to see the atoms and their nanostructures, to quantify their properties, and to control them. Her research encompasses designing new quantum materials, visualizing microscopic nature of quantum materials, and realizing novel devices.
