HIST 112
This course explores the settler colonial experience of Palestine from the period of late-Ottoman rule to the 1967 occupation and its aftermath. Using a broad range of primary sources, students evaluate lively historiographical debates and theoretical approaches.
HIST 333
This course examines the global history of anti-colonial revolution, from the late 18th century to the present. It will engage with questions of revolutionary thought, practice, mobilization, organization, social change, as well as political and economic contestation against colonial and imperial structures and systems. It will also introduce students to the rich theoretical literature on the study of revolutions and anti-colonialism. A variety of major case studies will be considered which may include Haiti, Ireland, Egypt, Iraq, Syria, Palestine, India, Algeria, Vietnam, Iran and South Africa.
